Shaibu hopeful youths’ll support Osinbajo’s aspiration
Edo State Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, at the weekend, expressed optimism about the chances of Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo emerging as the next president of the country just as he described the latter as a presidential hopeful that would enjoy massive support of young people in 2023.
Shaibu made the declaration at the weekend in Auchi, Edo State, during the conferment of the chieftaincy title (Oduma of Auchi) on the Minister of State for Budget and Planning, Prince Clem Agba, by the Otaru of Auchi Kingdom, Alhaji Aliru Momoh, Ikelebe III.
Shaibu also pledged Edo State support for Osinbajo should the need arise, saying: “Your Excellency, just know that you have Edo. You have us. Anything that you want to do, you have us and you have God. And by the Grace of God, we will have our own as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023.”
Shaibu joined other top politicians and personalities, including the Minister of Finance Budget and National Planning, Mrs Zainab Ahmed; her Transportation counterpart, Rotimi Amaechi; Minister of State for Labour, Festus Keyamo; Minister of State for Power, Abubakar Aliyu; Minister of Youths and Sports, Sunday Dare; former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Adams Oshiomhole; and traditional rulers led by the representative of the Oba of Benin to witness the ceremony.
