South East to kit security outfit soon, says Umahi
Governor David Umahi of Ebonyi State, yesterday, called for caution in the handling of security matters in the Southeast, noting that in a couple of weeks, the zone would unveil uniform vehicles and uniforms for its security outfit.
Briefing reporters at the end of a Special Security Council meeting at Uburu in Ohaozara Council of the state, Umahi observed that the zone has an agreement with the Fulani herdsmen for peaceful co-existence, adding that issues of IPOB and the nomads were sensitive to the extent that they could ignite crisis for the whole country if not well managed.
He said: “We have over 11 million Igbo in the North and also three million in the West. This issue of igniting crisis against the Fulani should be condemned by all. It will consume everybody. The issue of security is very serious.”
