Taraba State Government said it has rolled out a new initiative to support small businesses and promote economic opportunities.

Taraba State governor, Dr. Agbu Kefas, said the programme will provide financial assistance to local entrepreneurs to boost business growth and strengthen the state’s economy.

Flagging off the disbursement of N442 million to 7,015 eligible beneficiaries of the micro and small enterprises in Jalingo, Kefas who spoke through his deputy, Aminu Abdullahi Alkali, urged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the government’s gesture by utilising the funds as intended.

He urged them to make the most of the financial support to improve their businesses and the economy of the state.

Kefas also emphasised that the success of the initiative depends on the effective use of the funds to create sustainable economic development at the grassroots level.

Supporting the position of the governor, the state programme coordinator of Taraba Community Action for Resilience and Economic Stimulus (TRCARE), Polycarp Adi, urged the beneficiaries to take advantage of the funds by directing them into useful ventures.

“We expect that the funds will be deployed for its intended purposes to contribute to the economic prosperity of Taraba state,” he said.

“Our team are ready to be deployed to provide benefiting businesses with guidance, training, monitoring, and grievance redress to ensure the achievement of the primary objective of the programme.”
