Terrorists have killed another Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Vitus Borogo, in Kaduna State, as they raided the prison farm in Kujama, along Kaduna-Kachia road.

Terrorists have killed another Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Vitus Borogo, in Kaduna State, as they raided the prison farm in Kujama, along Kaduna-Kachia road.

In a statement, yesterday, the Catholic community expressed shock and grief over the killing of the priest, as members mourned.

The Chancellor, Catholic Archdiocese of Kaduna, Rev. Fr. Christian Emmanuel said: “It is with a heavy heart, but with total submission to the will of God, that we announce the death of Fr. Borogo, which sad event took place on Sunday (yesterday) at the Prison Farm, Kujama, along Kaduna-Kachia Road, after a raid on the farm by terrorists.”

Until his death, 50-year-old Borogo was Chaplain of the Catholic Community, Kaduna State Polytechnic, and Chairman of Nigerian Catholic Diocesan Priests Association (NCDPA), Kaduna chapter, the chancellor noted.   

The Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna, Most Rev. Matthew Ndagoso, has condoled with the immediate family, the NFCS family of Kaduna Polytechnic and the Kaduna Polytechnic Community, assuring them of his fraternal closeness and prayers. 

Ndagoso added: “Details of his funeral arrangement will be announced soon. “

Meanwhile, we commit his soul to the maternal intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and call on all men and women of goodwill to continue to pray for the peaceful repose of his soul and for the consolation of his bereaved family, especially his mother.”
