Terrorists struck again in Southern Kaduna, as the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) raised the alarm over the kidnapping of a district head and six others in the Gurzan Kurama community.

SOKAPU, on Sunday, condemned the abduction of the District Head of Garu Kurama and the six other members of the Gurzan Kurama community in Kaduna State.

The bandits were said to have attacked the community on Saturday night and reportedly kidnapped Mr. Yakubu Jadi (District Head), Mr. Iliya Yakubu, Mr. Nehemiah Tanko, Mr. Thomas Tanko, and Mr. Yakubu Jadi’s daughter, the Catholic Catechist of the community.

Meanwhile, SOKAPU, in a statement issued by Josiah Yusuf Abraks, the Public Relations Officer (PRO), described the incident as “unfortunate, alarming, and worrisome.”

He said, “SOKAPU is calling on security agencies and relevant authorities to do their very best to ensure the quick and safe release of the District Head, Mr. Yakubu Jadi, and the six others.

“The trauma being experienced by the victims, their families, and the entire community can only be imagined. The Union is calling on governments at all levels to do more in the protection of the lives and properties of its citizens.

“All communities are enjoined to be more organised and vigilant against unusual faces and movements in their environments and report such to the appropriate authorities.”

The statement stressed that “insecurity across the land must not be allowed to escalate.”

However, the Kaduna State Police Command has not yet reacted to the latest kidnapping incident in the State.
