AfolabiOLUWANIMILO Afolabi was diagnosed with Occipital Encephalocele at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) recently.

He was also born with a lump at the back of his head three and a half years ago. He could not suck his mother’s breast because his chest was blocked as well.

The surgery on the lump was successfully done. It is only the operation for him to be able to eat that has remained because his parents are looking for N700,000 to pay for the surgery at LUTH.

Oluwanimilo is the first born of his parents, Mr. Sola and Mrs. Ola Afolabi. His father is a trader while his mother works at an eatery in Lagos.
“ We have spent about N1.1 million on him already. We used to pass food with a catheter into his stomach. Time is running out for him. The second operation would enable to eat. That one will cost N700,000 , according to LUTH,” his father said.
