Founder of Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC), Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, has urged Nigerians to use the forthcoming Christmas to touch lives and be their brother’s keeper.

Ashimolowo, who spoke with journalists in Ibadan, at the weekend, after a crusade, also appealed to the citizens to pray for the President and those in authority, as well as believe in God and depend on Him as the problem solver, saying that those who criticise the government have not been able to manage their marriages.

He, however, appealed to Nigerians to pray for the governments to have a change of heart and turn things around for good, instead of criticising them.

The cleric expressed gratitude to God for everything He has done through him. He also appreciated the cooperation of other churches in Ibadan, including doctors, nurses and workers, for making the Ibadan crusade a huge success.

Ashimolowo, who stressed that the CCRW spent between N600 million to N700 million on surgery and medicine alone, said: “We need to make a difference in someone’s life. We (Nigerians) need to encourage people near us, encourage one another and be our brother’s keeper.”

“So, in this Christmas, do something for the next person near you. As a pastor in England for 40 years and the past 12 years, we’ve been giving a thousand hampers to people in England because there is poverty everywhere.

And 90 per cent of about 1,000 hampers in England go to white families and that tells you poverty does not know colour or tribe.

“It has been five days of this crusade, so far so good. We give God all glory; we give Him all the praise for how far He has helped us. We were in shock as to the level of response from the Ibadan people. The response was overwhelming.

“I also thank God that through this crusade, God saved souls, and transformed lives.”
