Two brothers arrested in Ogun for kidnap, sexual assault of teenage girl
The Ogun State Police Command has apprehended two brothers for their alleged involvement in the kidnapping, robbery, and sexual assault of a 17-year-old girl.
The victim, who resides in Abeokuta, was abducted on June 3, 2024, while travelling from Lekki, Lagos, to Mowe. According to SP Omolola Odutola, spokesperson for the Ogun State Police Command, the victim reported the incident at the Mowe Police Station. She recounted how she booked an online ride in a Toyota Camry (registration number EKP 352 AE) and was subsequently threatened with a broken bottle by a man who entered the vehicle near the Deeper Life area in Mowe.
The perpetrators drove the victim to an undisclosed location and demanded a ransom. Her boyfriend, Akinwale Williams, transferred N200,000 to an account at FCMB, while an additional N50,000 was taken from her directly. The victim also reported that her iPhone 13 Pro Max, valued at N850,000, was stolen and that she was sexually assaulted at a remote location near Omu Junction, Ofada.
Police investigators tracked the stolen phone to one Tunde Ajayi in Oke Sioni, Imedu, Mowe, who led them to 41-year-old Kayode Fagbohun from Shodeko Village, Ofada. Kayode confessed to threatening the victim and implicated his elder brother, 43-year-old Femi Fagbohun, as the driver of the Camry.
Both brothers were arrested. Although the vehicle used in the crime had been sold, police recovered another unregistered blue Toyota Camry. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
