Chief Magistrate Rita Oguguo of a Rivers State Magistrate Court sitting in Port Harcourt has convicted and sentenced two men identified as Lucky Christopher and Friday Lenu to twelve years imprisonment for defiling a 10-year-old girl in Eleme Local Area of the state.

Delivering judgment, the Chief Magistrate held that the prosecution was able to prove that the convicts had penetrated the private part of the teenage girl and defiled her without her consent.

She also held that the statement of the victim and the evidence tendered corroborated the statement of the convicted.

She said evidence available suggests that Christopher and Lenu on the 20th of April, 2022 in Eleme, defiled the ten-year-old girl and threatened to kill her and her aunty if she ever revealed what happened to anyone.

Consequently, the Chief Magistrate convicted the two to seven years in count one and five years in count two, making it a total of twelve years each to run concurrently.
