UK-based organisation donates drugs to Bayelsa
As part of its efforts to assist the Bayelsa State Government reduced the increasing maternal mortality rate, a United Kingdom-based organisation, Mariestopes, has donated drugs worth millions of naira to help check further deaths.
Among the drugs donated to the state are Misoclear, a high quality effective and misoprosol that offers safe and effective treatment for preventing heavy bleeding (postpartum hemorrhage) after childbirth.
Presenting the drugs to government officials at the Ministry of Health, Mariestopes’ Regional Manager, South-South, Mary Ogholi, said the drugs was donated to save the life of women, especially in the rural communities, who cannot afford them.
