Uniben Theatre Arts students host Delta Guber aspirant, Majemite
Delta State governorship aspirant in the 2023 general election, Chief Fred Majemite, yesterday, feted students in the Department of Theatre Arts of the University of Benin (UNIBEN) as part of his commitment to promoting scholarly works of Arts.
Speaking with journalists in Benin City, during a special theatre production of Jatto’s The Challenge/Chairman/Esohe and other variety productions organised by the Students of the Department of Theatre Arts under the artistic direction of Mr. Godswill Osose Jatto, managed and produced by Dr. Vincent Oghenevweta Diakpomrere, Majemite expressed optimism to partner with the students and the department in promoting excellence in their academics and artistic works.
Majemite, who was represented by Rev. Lucky Oteheri, an educationist commended the Manager and Producer, Dr. Vincent Oghenevweta Diakpomrere for his dogged commitment to excellence and a high standard of professionalism in promoting “artistic, cultural and traditional values of our times in his theatre practice.”
Receiving the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) chieftain, a don in the theatre arts department, Dr. Vincent Diakpomrere commended the Delta PDP chieftain, saying his visit to the department will not only boost the students morale to study hard and excel in their works but also rededicate their focus to their studies and works.
He lauded the efforts of the Delta State politician, particularly his contributions to Theatre Arts Practitioners in the country, describing it as a step in the right direction.
“Your commitment will not go unnoticed as you have shown that, indeed, you are a lover of Arts production. For this, we shall continue to hold you in high esteem and also recognise you as a critical stakeholder for your passion and commitment to reawakening the interest of students and Nigerians in taking a career in the Arts and promoting artistic works of young talents,” Diakpomrere said.
Diakpomrere expressed gratitude to the PDP Chieftain for honouring the call to be part of the epoch-making event and appreciated members and staff of the theatre arts department for the spectacular theatre production that showcased to the world the rich concept of arts at the special theatre production put together by the department.
