With the aftermath of the #EndBadGovernance protest still hanging in the air, the Secretary-General, Urhobo Council of Traditional Rulers, and Ovie of Agbarha-Otor Kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oghenevwogaga Richard Ebelle, at the weekend, urged President Bola Tinubu to quickly address the acute poverty in the country through policies reversal.

The royal father gave the advice during his investiture as a Distinguished Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Information and Strategy Management (CIISM), held at the Royal Palace in Agbarha-Otor, Ugheli North Council of Delta State.

Ebelle said that the level of hardship is unbearable, which is why it requires urgent solutions through deliberate actions and inactions of the President and members of the Federal Executive Council.

He said that all economic policies, which directly or indirectly invoke high inflation, low life, and extreme hardship should be revoked immediately, noting that the hike in the pump price of petrol, and the weak naira prompted high cost of food items, medicine, and transportation.

Ovie Ebelle noted that the deliberate lack of maintenance of the country’s refineries led to the importation of fuel, whereas those in charge of the highly lucrative deals in successive administrations find it difficult to allow the four refineries to work for Nigerians.

He, therefore, appealed to Tinubu to do whatever it takes to break the jinx by ensuring that the nation’s four refineries in Port Harcourt, Kaduna, and Warri commence the refining and distribution of fuel, and other range of petroleum products without further delay and unpatriotic conspiracy theory.
