Wizkid announces return to Nigeria
Multiple award-winning Nigerian superstar, Ayodeji Balogun, aka Wizkid has declared that he is back in Nigeria.
The Ojuelegba crooner made this known during his performance at the 2025 edition of Lagos State Government annual end-of-year fiesta, the Greater Lagos Countdown.
The 34-year-old singer said, “First of all, happy new year! You will live long, you will be wealthy. Long life and good health shall be for you and all your family.
“I have a very important message for you today, Lagos, Nigeria. I want you to know that your son Ayodeji Balogun, aka Wizkid, Machalla, the biggest bird, is back home now.”
In a statement posted on X.com on Tuesday, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu unveiled a star-studded lineup of music performers for the event.
He wrote, “This December, Lagos welcomed the world, and now we’re ready to host the biggest countdown event in Africa.”
The Greater Lagos Countdown 2025 which commenced at 7 pm, culminated to the following day with the New Year celebrations featured music superstars performances by Burna Boy, Tiwa Savage, Olamide, Seyi Vibez, BNXN, Perizzi, Qinq Madi among others.
