Yabacon Africa has empowered tech innovator Damilola Kaffo with a N1 million grant at its 2024 Yabacon Meet to address real estate sector challenges.

Yabacon Africa has empowered tech innovator Damilola Kaffo with a N1 million grant at its 2024 Yabacon Meet to address real estate sector challenges.

Kaffo’s solution, Gigaeden, addresses quackery and inadequate pricing data, while also enabling remote property viewing and addressing industry woes.

This is was disclosed at Yabacon Meet tech summit, tagged: “Innovating for a brighter Tomorrow,” was aimed at celebrating Africa’s innovative spirit whilst highlighting its collective ability to generate solutions to solve economic problems through collaboration and bold ideas.

Kaffo stated that the grant will fund virtual software development and marketing, thereby providing solution to the problem in the real estate sector.

Yabacon Africa Founder Jesse Essang stated, empowering innovators supports societal growth, adding that the organisation prioritises developing infrastructure for young tech entrepreneurs.

On his part, Founder Yabacon Africa, Jesse Essang pointed out that the grant is a way of giving back to the society it still remains dedicated towards developing.

“Operating in a society that does not have so much infrastructure and amenities for innovators, we saw the need to support and empower young technology driven ideas thrive.

“In regards to how the winner was picked, we looked at factors such as impact, how much has been put into the solution thus far prior to the pitch, as well as an idea that is scalable with a minimal cost of production,” Essang added.

Speakers at the event shared insights on software development, open-source innovation and artificial intelligence.
