Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has extended his heartfelt commiserations to the victims of the recent flooding in Gummi Local Government Area. The heavy downpour on Friday led to severe flooding, submerging scores of houses and displacing numerous residents.

In a statement released on Saturday by his spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Governor Lawal expressed deep concern and sympathy for those affected by the disaster. He assured the public that his administration is taking swift action to mitigate the impact and prevent future occurrences.

“I received the sad news of the flooding in parts of Gummi Local Government Area,” the Governor said. “This is quite distressing, and my thoughts are with everyone affected.”

The statement further noted that Governor Lawal had been in communication with relevant authorities, local leaders, and elders in Gummi since the unfortunate incident occurred. In response to the disaster, the Governor dispatched a government delegation to assess the situation and provide immediate relief to the victims.

“My government is committed to taking all necessary measures to prevent future occurrences of such sad incidents,” Governor Lawal affirmed. “All hands will be on deck to ensure that victims of the flooding receive the necessary support they may require.”
