Ooni of Ife: I take the lead to break down shut doors permanently

The Ooni of Ife, His Royal Majesty Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, has said one of his greatest legacies is to bring together young minds of African descent as a way of building the continent starting with Nigeria.

This, according to him, is reason behind creating the Royal African Young Leadership Forum (RAYLF), where young leaders both in the private and public sector come together to better their immediate community and the continent.

“This kind of venture is very capital intensive and I am so passionate about it. Today, more than ever, the world recognises the importance of Africa, not only for our rich natural resources but, crucially, for our vibrant and dynamic young population who are illuminating the paths of different communities toward a prosperous and unified Africa. Symbolically, from Lagos to Cape Town, Dakar to Accra, Kigali to Cairo, Africa needs its finest and ever-dedicated young demographic that is rich in creative culture, governance and leadership, innovation and technology, entrepreneurship, and academic excellence.

“These are the five-fold pillars that are shaping and reconstructing the very next modernisation and industrialisation of Africa. They remain the cardinal contemporary life-tube of my royal mission that is accommodating the exchange of “new ideas” and solving the world’s critical problems through various innovative and superlative mechanisms. I believe that their strategic contributions to the future of the continent are inevitable if we are going to achieve Vision 2063, ‘The Africa We Want’.”

The Ooni further said the week-long event, which commenced on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 with the theme, “Africa of the Future-Better Together” is targeted at redefining things through the Royal African Chamber of Commerce.”
