Olaseni Salako: The people’s choice for 2027 as he redefines politics in Ogun State

Chief Olaseni Olubusola Salako, a seasoned professional, philanthropist, and astute politician, has become a formidable force in Ogun State’s political landscape. Born on June 13, 1973, into the respected Salako family of Agbole Oluwo in Idogo, Yewa South Local Government, he has dedicated his life to service, development, and the betterment of his people.
After earning his degree in Economics from Ogun State University, Ago Iwoye, Chief Olaseni embarked on a flourishing career in the private sector. His professional journey began in 2001 at Refuge Insurance Company, where he served diligently as a Marketing Controller. His leadership prowess saw him take the helm at Wao Logistics as Managing Director from 2005 to 2010 before relocating to Canada in 2011 to expand his knowledge and professional expertise.
Despite his international sojourn, Chief Olaseni never lost touch with his roots. Driven by an unyielding passion for humanity, he established the Salako Empowerment Foundation (SEF), a beacon of hope for the vulnerable in Yewa Land and Nigeria at large. Through SEF, he has provided critical support to indigent families, scholarships to students, and empowerment programs for youths and women.
Beyond philanthropy, Chief Olaseni has become an influential voice in Ogun State politics. His deep involvement in the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has positioned him as a rallying point for progressives within the state. As the 2027 parliamentary elections draw closer, he has emerged as the most preferred candidate to represent Yewa South/Ipokia Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives. His grassroots support is undeniable, and his strategic engagements within the PDP have continued to ruffle political structures in the state.
In 2022, Apagun Olaseni vied for the PDP’s ticket to represent the good people of Yewa South State Constituency at the Ogun State House of Assembly, Abeokuta. This legitimate political aspiration provided a firsthand insight to the genuine aspirations of the people who have undeservedly continued to suffer all manners of misrepresentation and abject neglect from the government both at the state and the federal levels.
However, the ambition had to be sacrificed in the overall interests and wellbeing of the PDP in Ogun State in what is today known, in PDP, as the Consent Judgement of 2021 which conferred judicial legitimacy on some internal arrangements in the build up to the 2023 rounds of general elections.
Regarded as a bridge between the old and new political order, Chief Olaseni Salako embodies the aspirations of the people. His vision for Yewa and Ogun State is built on inclusivity, development, and sustainable governance. With unwavering public backing and a track record of service, he remains the people’s choice to usher in a new era of representation and development in 2027.
