Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has hailed the judgment of the Supreme Court that affirmed his candidacy as the standard-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the November 16, 2024 governorship election.
Aiyedatiwa, who described the verdict as a victory for the rule of law, spoke, yesterday, at the Akure Airport during his arrival in the state capital from Abuja.
The governor, while urging Ajayi to sheathe his sword following the final resolution by the Supreme Court, appealed to him to team up with his administration for the overall benefit of the state.
Aiyedatiwa said that his administration would work with the existing security agencies in the state to ensure that the state is safe, adding that his administration has provided significant support to security outfits.
According to him, the protection of lives and property is the primary duty of any government. hence his administration is focused on it.
“The security of lives and property is the primary function of any government, and that is exactly what we want to ensure, and we have been working hard to ensure that our people are safe in Ondo State.
“The security agencies are also seriously working tirelessly to ensure that the people are safe. The state government has been supporting them, and we will add more to the support. We noticed that the criminals are not relenting in their efforts by trying to look for other ways to have incursions into the system.
“So, we need more equipment like trackers and drones. These are some of the equipment we need to get for our security agencies and we are working on that already,” he further said.
