Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has lampooned the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, saying that its coming to power in 2015 was a political accident.

Mutfwang emphatically added that this time around, under his watch, there will be nothing like an accident again.

He spoke on Thursday at the official flag-off for the 2024 local government elections rally of the PDP at Langfield Leisure Park, Rayfield, Jos.

The governor stressed that APC’s coming to power after years of good government by the PDP in the state was a mistake and misnomer that will never repeat itself.

He pleaded with the candidates who lost during the primaries not to be angry as PDP is the party of the people.

According to him, “We are not going to rig the local government elections. We are going to win in a neat and transparent manner. This election will be the most credible and transparent election.”

The governor urged every PDP supporter to come out and vote for the party because, on October 10, they are returning to this very hall to celebrate the victory of the PDP.

Mutfwang specifically urged the PDP to intensify their campaigns and deliver their polling units, stressing that he does not want to see any APC card in Plateau Southern Zone because he wanted them to win the elections overwhelmingly.

He presented the flags to the six chairmanship candidates of the zone, urging them to go and conquer co October 9, next Wednesday.

He assured all that there would be no local government that he would not develop.

Plateau Deputy Governor Josephine Piyo assured the governor that PDP would not disappoint at the polls come Wednesday, October 9, and appreciated the laudable performance of the governor and specifically emphasised his gender sensitiveness as he gave women positions in the party structure.
