Edo election: Ighodalo wants voting time extended
The candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Asue Ighodalo has called for an extension of voting time following the late arrival of materials in some polling units.
Speaking with journalists at his polling unit 3, ward 1 at the Idimirio Skill Acquisition, he said he is waiting to cast his vote and that a similar delay in other areas would affect the outcome of your exercise.
“I have to give them the benefit of the doubt though I heard of it that they will suppress the PDP stronghold but I will still give them the benefit of the doubt. They are still within time,” he said.
“Since we are starting two hours behind schedule, they will have to extend the time time for us.”
He however lamented that security agents in mufti are arresting PDP supporters, saying one of his supporters was arrested at one of the Uromi polling units.
Asked to comment on the performance of INEC so far, he said it was too early to do so, stressing he would do that at the end of the day.
