As Zamfara residents prepare for the Local Government Council polls, Alhaji Mannir Haidara, the PDP candidate for the Kaura Namoda Local Government seat, has promised special attention to security, if elected.

Haidara stated this in Gusau on Thursday at the Zamfara State Council of the Union of Journalists (NUJ) media campaign programme popularly known as ‘Zakara’.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN)reports that Haidara was the immediate past information commissioner who resigned to contest in Saturday’s polls.

“If elected in the forthcoming 2024 LG elections in the state, I will give my people the best I can in terms of healthcare delivery.

“As part of my blueprint, I have a plan to employ more health workers, especially Nurses and Midwives, to address maternal mortality among women and children in the area,” Haidara said.

He promised to work for the needs of the people for economic development, infrastructure, electricity, and water supply.

Haidara also promised to collaborate with the state and Federal Governments to address the security challenges facing the rural communities in the area.
“If elected, I will provide an enabling environment for the security operatives to enhance their operations towards addressing the lingering security challenges affecting our communities.
“We are going to initiate empowerment programmes to enhance social protection activities for women and children, victims of security challenges and other vulnerable groups,” Haidara said.
