The North Central All Progressives Congress (APC) Forum has indicated a willingness to appeal the ruling of the Federal High Court, Abuja that retained Dr Abdullahi Ganduje as National Chairman of the ruling party.
It had dragged Ganduje, APC and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) before the court praying for nullification of Ganduje’s appointment, arguing that the exercise was a violation of the party’s constitution.
In Monday’s judgment, Justice Inyang Ekwo had dismissed the suit on some grounds.
According to him, the APC North Central Forum is not a juristic person, and not registered in law, thus had no legal power to file the suit.
Also, the judge said that the plaintiff failed to explore the internal mechanism for peaceful resolution of issues before rushing to court, adding that the appointment of officers for APC by its National Executive Committee is an internal affair of the party which no court can dabble into.
Reacting to the ruling, the Chairman of the Forum, Saleh Zazzaga, hinted at appealing the decision.
He told newsmen yesterday in Jos that one vital thing they are seeking from the court is the interpretation of the party’s 2022 constitution (as amended) and the zoning arrangement.
