African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate for Yagba Federal Constituency, Kogi State, Leke Abejide, has pledged to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential flagbearer, Bola Tinubu, with whatever he has, including his second term bid.

Abejide, who chairs the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise, is the lone member of ADC in the 9th National Assembly. He spoke in Abuja, at the weekend, during Kogi West stakeholders’ meeting to strategise for the Tinubu/Shetima presidential ticket. The meeting was at the instance of APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) Secretary, James Faleke.

The decision to back Tinubu despite not belonging to the same political party, he explained, was by choice and sacrosanct, even if it means sacrificing his second term ambition.

Towards ensuring victory for the former Lagos State governor in Kogi, the lawmaker disclosed that he had purchased 10 Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs) for distribution to his group’s coordinators for Tinubu presidential bid mobilisation and 21 Sienna minivans for each of the 21 local councils in the state.

He also vowed to use his influence as the Asiwaju of Yoruba in Kano State to mobilise Yoruba people in the state to vote for Tinubu.

“We are not mentioning APC in our (campaign) programme; we are only mentioning Tinubu, and that is the project I want to deliver. Whatever it is going to cost me, even if it is my mandate (re-election), I don’t mind,” he said. “I want to conclude here that talk is cheap. Let everybody go home and bring the results of his polling unit, deliver your electoral ward and deliver your local council. That is how election is won.”
