Kwara APC presents INEC nomination form to governorship candidate Danladi

The Kwara APC has presented its INEC nomination form to governorship candidate Yakubu Salihu Danladi following the ratification of his victory in the party's primary election.

The Kwara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally presented its governorship nomination form to the Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Yakubu Salihu Danladi, following the ratification of his emergence as the party’s candidate for the 2027 governorship election.

The presentation, held on Tuesday in Ilorin, marks the completion of the party’s internal nomination process after the APC National Working Committee concluded its review of the party’s primary elections and resolved petitions arising from the exercise.

Presenting the nomination form, the Kwara APC Chairman, Prince Sunday Fagbemi, said the National Working Committee had concluded all necessary reviews, including appeals submitted by aggrieved aspirants, before confirming the party’s candidates for the various elective positions.

He explained that the state chapter was authorised to issue nomination forms to the successful candidates for submission through the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal.

“Following the completion of the appeal process and the ratification by the National Working Committee, it is now our responsibility to present the nomination forms to our candidates for onward submission to INEC,” Fagbemi said.

He described Danladi as the duly recognised APC governorship candidate and officially handed over the nomination form during the ceremony.

The event was attended by party elders, stakeholders, members of the Kwara State House of Assembly, cabinet members, party executives, women groups and supporters.

Speaking after receiving the nomination form, Danladi expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, the APC national leadership and party stakeholders for their support throughout the nomination process.

He also commended other aspirants who participated in the primary election and pledged to work with them in the interest of the party.

“There are ongoing reconciliation efforts, which are normal after every primary election. We all understood that one candidate would eventually emerge, and now it is our collective responsibility to unite the party and work together,” he said.

Danladi expressed confidence that the APC would remain united ahead of the 2027 general election, adding that he would continue consultations with party leaders and members across the state.

“APC is one family, and we will continue to strengthen that unity. We appreciate the confidence reposed in us, and we will work hard to justify it,” he added.

The presentation formally positions Danladi as the APC’s standard-bearer for the 2027 governorship election in Kwara State, subject to the completion of INEC’s nomination processes.
