Ondo poll: PDP members defect to APC in Okitipupa
Scores of members of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ondo State have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the November 16, 2024 governorship election in the state.
The defectors, who were led by a former State Women Leader of the party, Esther Ebiwonjumi, said they were impressed by Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s leadership style.
They defected at a stakeholders’ engagement meeting of the Southern Senatorial District of the state. Ebiwojum assured the governor of total victory for the APC in Okitipupa.
Aiyedatiwa, on his part, said his administration required all citizens’ collective efforts to ensure smooth governance and development. He, therefore, urged all members of the party to unite and collaborate effectively to ensure the APC retains power in the state.
“The APC is one big family, and your integration is crucial to our success. Let us all prioritise the success of our party and work together for a better future,” he said.
