With 2015 popularity, Buhari will win upcoming poll, APC chief affirms

The All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Deputy National Organising Secretary, Muhammed Sani, has promised that President Muhammadu Buhari will repeat his popularity in 2015 to win the upcoming poll.

Sani, who spoke at the party’s campaign in Kaduna, urged Nigerians to support the president and Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State, as well as other APC candidates to consolidate on the dividends of democracy.

The party presented flags to Senatorial, House of Representatives and state House of Assembly candidates as it kicked off its campaigns at the Kaduna Township Stadium.

The national deputy organising secretary said the leadership of the APC is impressed with El-Rufai’s performance.“We are counting on the millions of votes from the state for the re-election of President Buhari in 2019 polls. Kaduna State voted massively for APC in 2015, and I am convinced that the votes in 2019 will be higher,” he said.On his part, Kaduna APC Deputy Chairman, Shuaibu Idris, told the opposition parties that there are no vacancies in the Presidential Villa and Kaduna State Government House.

According to him, the current occupants have performed credibly well and need no replacement in 2019.Also speaking, a member representing Sabon Gari Federal Constituency, Garba Datti Babawo, urged the electorate to vote for APC candidates, adding that only the party has laid solid foundation to transform the nation.

Babawo, said the gang up against President Buhari and the APC by the former military leaders and some clerics will fail.He also warned that any attempt by the National Assembly to override President Buhari on the rejected Electoral Amendment Bill would be resisted by APC members.

A former Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant in the state, who recently defected to the APC, Dr. Sani Bello, urged his supporters to vote for all APC candidates in 2019.

El-Rufai, who recently launched a door-to-door campaign across the state, urged the electorate to vote for Buhari and other candidates in the next year’s polls, stating that his administration has taken major reforms in education, health and other sectors in the interest of the state.
