The first female chair of the Abuja Branch of the Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers (NIESV), Folake Odusiga has pledged to elevate the real estate profession to an enviable height.

She outlined plans to ensure Quality Membership Growth and Capacity Development, stressing the importance of maintaining relevance in the real estate sector.

Odusiga, disclosed this recently during her inauguration seminar as the 13th Chairman of the chapter themed: “Leading with Purpose: Lessons from Exceptional Leaders.” organised by the institution in Abuja.

She is committed to fostering an all-inclusive administration that welcomes diverse interests and ideas to elevate the branch. “We shall be carrying out a steady transformation in the conduct of the affairs and business of our noble branch. My administration will prioritise quality membership growth and capacity development,” Odusiga said.

She stated that without quality membership, the institution’s influence and relevance would shrink and members would not be able to add value and play active roles within the real estate sector in the country.

Odusiga assured that the Mandatory Continuous Professional Development of the institution would be strengthened with cutting-edge virtual training programmes, while her leadership will pursue partnerships, collaboration opportunities, and continuous engagement with organisations, establishments, as well as critical stakeholders, in its drive to create jobs for members.

She said: “I promise to hold dear this great position of trust and responsibility. I will uphold the ideals of honesty and devotion, nobility and professionalism. We will put in place an effective feedback mechanism between the committee and members.”

In his remarks, the Vice Chairman of the Institution, Chukwuebuka Anih, promised to work with the committee to achieve its goals.
