Rema Locks Down Vaniti In A Night Of Raves

For the ballers, it was a time to ball and shake off, for music lovers, it was a time to listen to a new song, but for Rema fans, it was a time to groove to another project that would break records like Calm down.

At Vaniti Lagos, Divine Ikubor, known popularly as Rema shows that he’s made for music and the season at HEIS album listening party.

Rema arrived at the listening party at 11:19.p.m but he never failed to deliver as he had the crowd eating from the palm of his hands.

First, it was the Disc Jockey (DJ) who got everyone in the mood for what to come and expect. ‘HEIS follows his critically acclaimed debut, Rave & Roses in March 2022, which featured collaborations with international artistes such as 6lack, AJ Tracey, and Yseult.

In “HEIS,” an 11-track album, featuring Crown Uzama, known professionally as Shallipopi Shallipopi and Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, Rema steps into a new chapter as he reckons with the thrills of global stardom. He expresses his desire to be respected for his contributions to the culture on the track “Hehehe.”

In ‘Benin Boys’, Rema and Shallipopi recognised their hometown. “March Am” embodies his ambition and success, while “Yayo” boasts of his achievements. Rema has grown to make what the world would also enjoy, and not just what the people at home would groove to.

‘We’re also making what we hope the world would also enjoy. I got rid of that mentality getting in the studio, like, ‘I’ll start with what I love. The rest of the world can catch up.’ He said in an interview.

Rema’s tracks have been added to over 28.1 million playlists and his tracks have been saved to 24.3 million users. Rema’s audience leans slightly female, with 52% female listeners and 44% male listeners while 26% of his listeners are between 23 and 27 years old, and 25% fall into the 28-34 age group.

The Calm Down crooner’s music is captivating a global audience, with his top streams in the last 28 days coming from the United States, Mexico, France, United Kingdom, Brazil, India, Germany, Nigeria, Canada and Spain.

Rema’s top 10 most streamed songs in the last 12 months are Calm Down (with Selena Gomez), Calm Down, Bubalu, Soweto by Victony (with Don Toliver, Rema and Tempoe), Benin Boys, Charm, Soundgasm, Dumebi, DND and Holiday.
