Amelond Hotel opens in Lagos, promises quality service

After months of planning, Amelond Hotel and Suites recently opened its door to guests and tourist, with promise to offer quality service. The 46-room facility is located in the fast growing Badore area of Lagos, with a target stretching beyond the Ajah-Lekki axis.

Envisioned and actualised by Babatunde Oluwafemi Akinde, who doubles as the architect and chairman of the hotel, Amelond offers world-class facilities and personalised services.

The hospitality outfit, which is a replication of the high quality standards Akinde experienced in his over two decades sojourn abroad, especially in the United States of America, offers several accommodation options with the comfort and security of discerning guests in mind.

As well, its room categories, which cut across standard to one-bedroom, two-bedroom and three bedroom suites, respectively, offer families the opportunity for bonding and reunion.

Apart from the rooms, the hotel features other facilities such as gym, lounge, swimming pool, spa, spacious car park, indoor and outdoor games including table tennis.
For the business traveller, the hotel offers all-day fast Internet connections, amid conveniences for business meetings.

For the leisure minded guests, the exclusive lounge, enthralling poolside lounge, spa, manicure and pedicure will further indulge you.

Speaking on the swimming pool, Akpomughe Kelly -manager of the hotel, explained that Amelond is offering the biggest swimming pool in Badore, measuring 12 by 6 metres and 7 ft, while the well-equipped bathroom measuring 8 by 5 ft extends the leisure offering indoor.
According to the manager, the hotel is also considerate of health conscious guests with the grill, fitness centre and other offerings aimed at helping guests to keep fit.

On security, the manager assured that Badore is a peaceful town and that the hotel has in place local security, some members of the Legion, and the Nigerian Police as well, to ensure guests do not watch their back while in the hotel.

On pricing, Bamidele Olugbenga Akinde, the accountant of the hotel, noted that it is competitively priced, while the chairman confirmed it saying that Amelond Hotel and Suites is targeted at those who love affordable quality.

However, the hotel’s management looks to expand and build an indigenous brand that is proudly managed by indigenous hands.

“I hope to expand the Amelond brand simultaneously with Awayz Lounge, a name I adopted in 1977 when I was in secondary school, and when I started nursing the ambition of traveling abroad ‘away’,” the chairman said.

On how he came about the name, the chairman said, “Amelond is derived from America, London and Saudi Arabia. They were the three visas I got miraculously within one week while in Nigeria before traveling abroad. So, I formed the hotel name by joining letters from the three countries.”
