Veteran musician, Charles Oputa, professionally known as Charly Boy, has joined a star-studded cast, including actors, Jide Kene Achufusi, Josh2Funny, Swanky JKA, among others in the Action-comedy dubbed, Money Miss Road.

Directed by Obi Emelonye of Last Flight To Abuja fame, and Produced by Joy Efe Odiete, the Nollywood flick captures the struggles, dreams and drive of downtown existence, highlighting the lives of two friends, Josiah (Uosh2funny) and Joseph (Jide Achufusi) whose chance encounter with Diokpa (Charly Boy), a ruthless criminal kingpin would set up for a life of luxury and misery as their rat race for survival unravels.

According to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Blue Picture, Odiete, the producer who is behind the highly acclaimed film, Gone, “Money Miss Road is a combination rarely seen in Nigerian cinemas as seen from the trajectory and history of the box office. This movie is a buffet served with a lot for everyone to chew on, seeing what has been going on in the country today.”

Speaking on the technical depth of the film, Emelonye said: “The film was shot on an Arri Alexa mini using high-quality prime lenses.”

Afusuchi said, “my character is about the day-to-day experiences as a Nigerian guy. There are lessons to be learnt from the movie. The first thing is contentment. We must learn not to overspend our resources. We are struggling a lot in Nigeria and this movie will help us tackle part of them.”

Reacting to the death of Oluwasolamipe Onayiga and Ada Ameh, he said: “It’s a sad moment for everyone in the industry. Their talents have blessed our lives and Ada Ameh was someone I worked with in a recent project. She was full of life, her death broke me down, and I pray to God to bless their souls and heal everyone who is ill.”
