Ooni hails Tinubu on council autonomy
The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and successive Lagos State governors for ensuring local government autonomy in the state over the years as it has led to great development at the grassroots.
The monarch said this during the commissioning of Ifoshi Road in Ejigbo Lagos State, reconstructed by the Chairman, Ejigbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Monsuru Oloyede Bello (OBE).
He said the Ifoshi Road constructed by the Obe-led administration wouldn’t have been possible if not for the autonomy local governments in Lagos State enjoy.
Describing the road as strategic to the development of the council area, he thanked President Tinubu for ensuring local government autonomy, which was achieved during his short term in office.
The All Progressives Congress (APC), Lagos State Chairman, Cornelius Ojelabi, also commended the council chairman for the project, which is a pointer to good governance in the state.
The Ejigbo LCDA boss said the commissioning demonstrates his commitment to promises he made when he sought council office. “During my campaign, I vowed to implement a transparent, evidence-based plan to support infrastructural development through high-quality public investment and effective service delivery across all sectors.”
