Pomp as Ini Edo, Ik Ogbonna emerge Meridian brand ambassadors
Nollywood celebrities, Ini Edo and Ik Ogbonna have been unveiled as ambassadors of two premium brands of Iki Leads Limited – Meridian Club Cream and Meridian Brandy.
The reputable blenders of alcoholic beverages in the country unveiled the iconic actors last Wednesday night amid pomp at an event held at the prestigious TwinWaters in Lekki, Lagos.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman and Managing Director of the company, Dr. Innocent Onwunali, who was represented by a management consultant, Samuel Elaigwu, declared Ini Edo as the ambassador for Meridian Club Cream and Ik Ogbonna as the ambassador for Meridian Brandy.
He added: “Today is a great day for Iki Leads because we are unveiling brand ambassadors for two of our premium brands and we are talking of people of proven integrity and high societal standard – Ik Ogbonna and Ini Edo. They are representing our premium brands, Meridian Brandy and Meridian Club Cream.
“It was a difficult one for Iki Leads because we need people with impeccable desire to represent our brand because everything that has to do with Iki Leads represents excellence and getting people of excellent standing in the society is a difficult one. So, we searched deep and got what we wanted though it wasn’t easy.
“Today, if you look at the personalities we are talking about, Ik Ogbonna is a celebrated name in the Nigerian movie industry and a celebrity of high status while Ini Edo has huge followership of the female folks as well. So, we believe and we know very well that their presence and endorsement of our brand will help in pushing these products even beyond the shores of Nigeria.”
Elaigwu explained that the brands target every class of the society, noting that the company believes that the choice of Edo and Ogbonna would help in projecting the image and the excellence for which Iki Leads is known.
On the products, he said: “The Meridian Club Cream is a quality drink made from premium materials targeting the elite in the society. The Meridian Brandy is a macho drink and it is for the man. The Meridian Club Cream is the female version of the Meridian Brandy. We target female folks with the cream, the elite; and it is also doing very well in Nigeria and beyond the country as well.”
On his part, the Factory Manager of Iki Leads, Ozorigbo Ogochukwu, said unveiling celebrated individuals as the ambassadors of the brands would help in pushing them to the next level.
“We are also hoping to have a good market share with these ambassadors. We hope that in time to come more products will still be coming from the company and we are trying to create products that go to various people who want to get them.”
In their remarks, the new brand ambassadors praised the company for producing quality products.
Ogbonna said: “First of all, Meridian Brandy as a brand has been so good to me and when the offer came, I knew it was something I would jump on because it is a brand I have supported long before I became an ambassador.”
On her part, Edo said: “It is a drink I have personally tasted and I love it and I’m sure that people who believe in me when I represent something will love it when they also try it. It is a premium brand and I like to identify with premium.”
