And The ‘Chicken’ Is Inside Soup Pot At Last

When what looked like the madness of Mr. Ademola Abiodun popularly known as DJ Chicken began, many including T4T just assumed it was part of the craze to be famous and cash in on the money the Internet was paying people to be crazy. Even when he was crashing cars and even allegedly crippled a middle aged woman in Ogun State, which made the state government to declare him persona non grata, people thought he would simmer down. DJ Chicken was obviously not contented with the popularity he may have got from all the crazy things he had done in the last four years or so even after T4T sometime ago appealed to him to calm down before he finds himself inside a pot of soup. Did he listen?

About two weeks ago, he obviously got the kicks, and fiam, took his phone, went live on Tik Tok and told the world that if Nigerian president, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu won next year’s presidential election, he would kill his popular politician son, Seyi.

Some of his followers hailed him even when others opened their mouths in total disbelief. Wetin dis boy smoke, some asked? Well, he was instantly arrested and a Magistrate’s Court in Ogba, Lagos, remanded him in prison custody till August 3 after taking his not guilty plea on a three-count charge bordering on alleged threat to kill, conduct likely to cause a breach of peace, and other offences under the Cybercrime Act. Magistrate M.F. Onamusi however admitted DJ Chicken to bail in the sum of N1 million with two sureties in like sum. If care is not taken, this ‘Chicken’ may end up inside the soup pot of the government for some years and you know what that means. Kill Fake News Before Fake News Kills Us!
WHEN T4T first read the news online, he could not bring himself to believe it. He knew something was not right about it especially the way the said Reporter quoted the state Governor with so much energy and conviction. How did a local reporter have that kind of access to a state Governor in that kind of damaging story? Then, T4T saw the retraction and apology video and the nickel dropped. “My name is Ejike Ofoegbu Experience, the owner and publisher of Igbo Times Magazine and INews. I wish to offer my deepest and most sincere apology to Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, the Executive Governor of Anambra State, his family, and the general public. I publicly admit that the stories I published concerning Governor Soludo and his son were completely fake, false, fabricated, and untrue. They did not come from Governor Soludo, his son, his family, or any official representative. They were not based on any verified facts or credible sources and they should never have been presented as news.” The guy looking like a wet chicken in the video began. “The false posts I published included: “Breaking News: ‘I will arrest anyone who calls Ozo my son. He is not my son. I disowned him years ago, and he is no longer a member of the Soludo family.’’

“Just In: I Don’t Take Advice From My Father. He Was a Drunkard Who Beat My Mom When I Was Young. His Treatment of My Mother Made Me Decide Never to Take Advice From Him — ‘Soludo’s Son’ Speaks Out.”

“Breaking News: ‘I ordered Ozo from Temu. He is Chinese-made, not my son. Even at the hospital when he was born, I asked the doctor, ‘I hope you didn’t accidentally exchange my real son.’ Ozo is from Temu,’ Soludo jokingly told reporters.”

“Breaking News: ‘They should organise a drinking competition between my father and Wike. I just want to see something. I’m willing to bet my life that my father would win. People don’t understand his drinking capacity.’ — Ozo.”

He was not done. “I state clearly and without reservation that every one of the statements above was fake. They should not be regarded as factual reports or genuine quotations. I take full responsibility for publishing them.”

Go and read the rest part of the wannabe journalist’s retraction elsewhere as that is not the news here. The news is, despite the lengthy written and video apology, Soludo say, mba, you go reach court. So, he was taken to court and the court has remanded him in Anambra state’s kirikiri pending his bail perfection.

T4T gives it up for the journalist. How can someone write such a damaging fictional story like that and it looked so believable? That boy is a master of fiction writing, he should have been a hit as a novelist. But for T4T’s decades of training, he would have fallen for it. Now, this is T4T’s submission: Governor Soludo should not listen to any village people’s plea, let the court judge the boy’s case, and if it decides to free him, fine.

If no serious example is made of fake news purveyors, the thousands of people into that evil act will not stop. In fact, they will become emboldened by the day.

Akwa Ibom, But Why?
IT was not the first time T4T read about what was brewing in Akwa Ibom State, so, last week, when the news resurfaced again, it did not come as a surprise. “Sleep with married men and get 10 year jail term, Akwa Ibom deputy Governor’s Bill ready to be passed,”the screaming headline hit T4T online on Monday.

Akwa lbom State House of Assembly, the news read, will on Tuesday 14th July 2026 pass into law a rule that sleeping with married men is prohibited in the state. The bill sponsored by the Deputy governor Her Excellency senator Akon Eyakenyi will on Tuesday pass into law by AKS House of Assembly.

The bill stated that any young girl, lady or woman caught sleeping with married man will go to prison for 10 years without any fine, while the man in question will pay a fine of 2 million naira.

Wait o, what if the man claims he wants to marry the said lady as second or third wife nko? Or has Akwa Ibom criminalised polygamy? Akwa Ibom must be declared the holy state of Nigeria where everybody must be compelled to go on pilgrimage yearly like the world goes to Mecca and Jerusalem, because only holy sites pass such laws.

But wait o, na Akwa Ibom we dey talk about so o, or is there another Akwa Ibom T4T does not know about?
