Nigerian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer, Tim Lyre, has bagged South African Music Awards SAMA nomination with his widely acclaimed debut album, Worry <, under the Rest Of Africa award category.

This exciting news comes ahead of the release of Tighter (ft. Minz) off Tim’s highly anticipated EP titled, MASTA, which is set for pre-add on October 13.

Worry <, a vibrant journey through soulful afro-fusion music and alté, has garnered five million streams, racked up support from the likes of BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1Xtra, Cool FM, Bandcamp (Album of the Week), Notion Magazine, Okay Africa, Breakroom Africa, Pan African Music, Bounce Radio, iMullar, and Worldwide FM.

Having recorded the album over three years, pre and post-pandemic, Worry < was largely produced by Tim Lyre and owes co-production credits to super-talented producers Le Mav, Ronehi, Higo, and July Drama.

Speaking on the album, Tim says; “Worry < is my first album and as the name implies, I wanted to make an album the listener can plug into and make all of his/her worries fall away. It’s music to relax to, to be happy or sad to, music to make you feel better, and music to soundtrack whatever situation you find yourself in. If you can find a way to immerse yourself in the project, then I hope it can be as therapeutic for you as it was for me.”
