Sixteen families that emerged victorious from hundreds of families auditioned for the Big Family Dream game show this year will be rewarded to the tune of N5 million, a full kitchen makeover and equipment worth N10 million and others.

In its third season, the show gave out a three-bedroom flat apartment in the first season to the Hange family, and also, gave out a three-bedroom apartment to the Dickson Oyetayo family who emerged winner of the second edition.

The show is focused on financial literacy and, the unity of family in making financial decisions. The 13-week show being sponsored by Lifemate and supported by Golden Penny will run from October 6 to December 29, 2024 with amazing surprises. During this context, the families are tasked to focus on money management, shopping to find the hidden treasure and cooking to save your life.

Speaking on the show, Executive Producer and creator, Big Family Dream, Oludare Onasanya, said: “We initiated the show because family is the core of society; families build the economy and if the family is ruptured, success, peace, prosperity and unity in the country will be almost impossible.

“We are auditioning hundreds of families in Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt and we will select 16 families from the three regions for the final game show and the prize for this season is N5 million and a complete kitchen.

“We believe that a family that makes decisions together, where the husband does not spend without consulting the wife and the children will achieve their dreams faster. This show is a simulation of real life where families manage their budget and the family with the highest amount in their bank account during the game show will achieve their dreams faster.

When asked about the choice of money and kitchen equipment instead of a house for the season, he said: “The dream prize every season changes; it could be a dream car of a dream vacation or start-up. We believe that N5 million injected into any family will help put a smile on their faces. The economy is not the reason for the change of the prize; we don’t want to be stereotyped for housing because housing is not the only dream the family have.”

Speaking on their support for the show, Category Marketing Manager, Pasta Foluke Makinde, said: “The show is about family and we are a family brand and as part of our values, we make sure that families enjoy themselves, and we are also driving bonding; as it is important in the family. Cooking is a key element in the family and no family can exist without food so, we are bringing that to the show.”
