Heineken celebrates culture at Port Harcourt’s Bole Festival
Heineken, the world’s most international beer, took centre stage at the 2024 Bole Festival, an electrifying annual celebration of food, culture, and community held at the Yakubu Gowon Stadium in Port Harcourt, Nigeria. This year’s festival, themed “Rhythm and Vibration,” perfectly mirrored Heineken’s commitment to delivering unforgettable experiences, drawing thousands of attendees over its two-day run.
As the largest food-meet-fun event in South Nigeria, the Bole Festival once again captured the hearts of food lovers with its tribute to ‘Bole’—the roasted plantain delicacy that is a beloved staple in the South-South region, particularly in Port Harcourt. However, it was Heineken’s vibrant presence that truly set the festival apart, infusing the event with a spirit of togetherness and celebration.
“Heineken was happy to partner with the Bole Festival, an event that aligns perfectly with our commitment to delivering the ‘Good Times,’” said Kola Akintimehin, Senior Brand Manager at Heineken, Nigerian Breweries Plc. “We witnessed an incredible fusion of culture, connection, and celebration—exactly the kind of memorable experiences we love to be a part of as a brand that celebrates Nigeria’s vibrant culture and aims to connect to a dynamic and diverse audience.”
Throughout the festival, Heineken’s involvement was unmistakable, from the dynamic live music performances that kept the energy high to the immersive Heineken beer village, where attendees enjoyed refreshing drinks amid the vibrant atmosphere. The brand’s presence also extended to the mouth-watering food exhibitions, which showcased local delicacies and highlighted Heineken’s commitment to supporting community-driven events that celebrate local traditions.
As the 2024 Bole Festival concluded, it was clear that Heineken had not only contributed to the success of the event but had also strengthened its connection with the community by honouring Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage. With this year’s success, Heineken looks forward to many more opportunities to bring people together through food, fun, and music.
