African Games 2023: Team Nigeria wins two silver medals in table tennis

Team Nigeria clinched two Silver medals in the Team event of Table Tennis at the ongoing African Games 2023.

In Friday’s fixtures, Team Nigeria lost to Egypt in both final matches of men and women’s categories.

In the men’s category, Egypt defeated the Nigerian side 3-0.

Also for the women, the Egyptians recorded another 3-0 win.

Team Nigeria wrapped up its participation in the Table Tennis event, finishing with four medals: three silver and one bronze.

In the men’s singles final, Quadri Aruna lost to rival Omar Assar of Egypt 4-3 and Offiong Edem won bronze after also losing to her Egyptian opponent in the semi-finals.

The 13th African Games in Accra, Ghana, will officially begin today (Friday) with the opening ceremony.
