IHS Towers battle Unilever as Remita Corporate Championship kicks off Sunday

All is now set for the annual corporate football championship, known as Remita Corporate Champions Cup, which kicks off on Sunday at Sports Pavilion of Yaba College of Technology, Lagos.
According to the organisers of the event, the championship, which is regarded as the most prestigious league of all corporate football competitions in Nigeria, will feature winners and runners-up of various sector-based footballing competitions in corporate Nigeria, covering banking, FMCG, insurance, and telecoms.
Speaking at the press conference yesterday in Lagos, Managing Director of System Specs, John Obaro stated that the football championship, which is in its fifth edition, has given corporate organisations the opportunity to have a healthy relationship through sports.
“I always look forward to the Remita Corporate Champions Cup. The championship gives children the chance to see their parents play football, just as it unites corporate organisations, as well as families.
“I want to wish the teams best of luck in the competition,” he declared.
Also speaking on the championship, former Super Eagles Captain, Peter Rufai said he was delighted to be part of the Remita Corporate
“The football event helps to improve the health status of the participants. I would work hard to give my best in supporting the vision of the competition. Participating in it will bring more respect to the tourney,” he said.
The organisers of the event, MediaVision said the tournament would feature eight leading corporate brands across various industries in Nigeria, including Union Bank, First City Monument Bank, IHS Towers, MTN Nigeria, Nestle, Unilever, NEM Insurance, and Friesland Campina.
