Bestman Briere and Jummai Abdulahi, at the weekend, beat the field to win the men’s and ladies’ categories respectively of the 2024 TotalEnergies Charity Golf Tournament held at the Lakowe Golf Resort, Lagos.

The Charity Golf tournament has been an important annual fixture on TotalEnergy’s corporate calendar since 2011.

Beyond the friendly competition and the networking opportunities, the competition is used to raise funds to help charity homes offset the enormous cost of assistive devices, medications, counselling, awareness efforts, and therapy required to manage and improve the quality of life of those under their care.

The event saw Simbi Wabote picking the second best men’s award, while Abubakar Hassan, placed third.

In the ladies category, Abdulahi beat Ogamdi Akalamudo, and Darlene Cobham, to the second and third positions respectively.

The Longest Drive Award (Ladies) also went to Abdulahi; while the Nearest Drive Award for Ladies was won by Phillipa O.

On the other hand, the Longest Drive (Men) award went to Michael Rollard, just as Ayo Abe captured the Nearest Drive (Men).

The Veteran’s Prize went to Yemi Ajibola, while the Best Male Staff Award went to Jean-Christophe Agrati, and the Best Female Staff Award was won by Adesua-Adewole.

In his remarks, the Managing Director of TotalEnergy Upstream Companies in Nigeria, Mr Matthieu Bouyer, stated that the tournament gives them an opportunity to share value with their partners while creating a healthy balance between sports and charity.

“Being an important part of our CSR programmes, the TotalEnergies Charity Golf aligns with our company’s 5th Lever of Sustainable Change, namely Care. We care for society. We care for the under-privileged. That’s why we are here today.”
