Philanthropist lifts Ozoro football body, promises overseas trip for best players
A football enthusiast, Ashakah Maro Orobosa, has donated N2 million to the Ozoro Football Association and also promised to sponsor the best two players at the yearly Ozoro community inter-quarter football competition to trials with clubs overseas.
The philanthropist made the donation recently during the final game of the inter-quarter football competition between Uruto and Oruamudhu communities at Amawhe Primary School, Ozoro.
Excited by the talents on display at the competition, Orobosa urged youths from Ozoro community to be more united and abstain from social vises that could cause crisis within the community and its environs.
He thanked the community for its unwavering support for Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and appealed to the youths for their continuous support for the government.
Speaking on behalf of the Ozoro Football Association, Blessing Elerara thanked Orobosa for his selfless service to the community and its environs, including cash gifts to Ozoro market women, cash gift to Ozoro Football Association and most importantly, sponsoring of two best footballers abroad in the competition to further their career overseas. The football match ended with Oruamudhu Community defeating Uruto community 1-0.
