Archbishop Fape to deliver WATS Convocation Lecture Sept. 9

The Archbishop of Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos and Bishop of Remo Diocese, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion), The Most Reverend (Dr.) Michael Olusina Fape is to deliver the 33rd Convocation Lecture of West Africa Theological Seminary, Ipaja, Lagos on September 9, 2023. He will be speaking on the theme: “Pastoral Leadership and Development of a National Ethos.”
Recall that The Most Reveren Fape was an alumnus of the University of lbadan, where he graduated with Second Class Upper before going to Yale University Divinity School, New Haven, CT. U.S.A, where he obtained his Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M) degree in 1990.
Between 1992 and 1996, Archbishop Fape was awarded the Langham Trust Scholarship to study for his doctoral degree in New Testament Studies at the University of Aberdeen, Aberdeen, Scotland, UK, and graduated in 1996.
A dedicated pastor and teacher whose teachings and ministries have brought joy to many lives in various churches in Nigeria, U.S.A and the UK, Dr. Fape was formerly a senior lecturer at Immanuel College of Theology, Ibadan, where he lectured in New Testament Studies, New Testament Greek, Homiletics and Clinical Theology.
Prior to his election as Bishop, The Most Reverend Fape was the Clerical Secretary, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion).
Currently, he is the Bishop of the Diocese of Remo, Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion); Chairman, Church of Nigeria Theological Resource Group (CON TG); and Archbishop, Lagos Ecclesiastical Province.
Those expected at the event include church leaders, captains of industry, traditional rulers, among other eminent Nigerians.According to the Director of Administration, Dr. TosinAwolalu, Provost of the Seminary, ReverendDauda A. Gava will preside over the convocation ceremony.
