Text: Jeremiah 29:10-14
Introduction

One general complaint I have heard from many people, especially in trying times, is that no one is thinking of them or about them. I have heard this over and over again from wives, husbands, parents, children, churches members and even Pastors. In case you are one of such, I have good news for you today. What you think no one is doing for you, God is constantly doing for you. The topic today is, “God is thinking About You.” This is what God Himself said in our today’s passage. (Jer. 29:11) If God says He is thinking about you, you have no reason to doubt Him.
From our periscope, there are four important things to be noted. These are:

• God Is Thinking Of You
Our God is a thinking God, and it is good to hear that He is thinking about you. Very evident here is the fact that the Lord has thoughts towards His people. It is noteworthy that He does think of them and towards them. We must observe that this passage does not say, “I know the thoughts that I have thought toward you,” but “that I think towards you.” God’s heart, His eyes and His hands are continually towards His people. The Lord has been mindful of us and He is still mindful of us. The Lord not only thinks of you, but towards you.

• His Thought Is Of Peace, Not Of Evil
God’s thoughts toward us, His people are always thoughts of peace. He is at peace with us through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. He delights in us; He seeks our peace, He creates our peace, He sustains our peace, and thus, all His thoughts toward us are peace. Unlike men who might be thinking evil towards other men, God’s thought towards us is peace. May His thought of peace prevail over our lives! Amen.

• His Thought Is To Give You An Expected End
The purpose of God’s thought toward you is to give you an expected end. To the Jews in Babylon, the expected end was restoration to their land. To the Hebrews of later times, the expected end is greater blessings. The expected end, both to Jews and Gentiles, is the millennial light, repose, and happiness in Paradise. The Lord’s thoughts are all working towards “an expected end,” or as the Revised Version puts it, “to give you hope in your latter end.” Some other versions call it, “a future and a hope.” God is thinking about your future, He is thinking of a hope for you.

• The Thought Of God Is Settled
One truth about God is that, there is never a thoughtless action on His part, because His mind goes with His hand. His heart is in His acts. When God thinks, He thinks to purpose. God always works to an end and with a motive. Therefore, His thoughts toward us are settled and definite. Sometimes, a man may hardly know his own thoughts, because he has hardly made up his mind. The case is the opposite with the only wise God.

The Lord is not a man that He should hesitate; His infinite mind is made up, and He knows His thoughts. His purpose is settled, and He adheres to it. When He sets Himself to make a world, He did not rest till He has made it perfectly and pronounced it good. (Gen. 1:31) When He came from heaven to redeem the sinful race of men, His tears did not stop, nor did His blood cease flowing till He cried, “It is finished.” (John 19:30) No matter what the enemy is doing in your life, the thought of God concerning you shall still come to pass. (Isa. 14:24, 27) Amen.

Conclusion
The revelation that God is thinking about you, the thought of peace, not of evil, to give you a future and a hope should spur in you the need to submit unto Him, depend on Him, be hopeful and expectant in all situations and circumstances. You may have passed through the storms; but the darker the cloud, the brighter the rainbow that is stretched across it. The truth is that God is thinking about you better than you are thinking about yourself. The big question is: Are you thinking about God? Call on Him, pray unto Him and seek Him. No one who searches for God with all his heart will miss Him. (Jer. 29:12-13) Your restoration is nearer than you can imagine. Will you seek Him with all your heart? Shalom.
