No fewer than 150 missionaries from different African countries and the United Kingdom are expected to grace this year’s Global Mandate Conference (GMC) organised by Agape Generation International Church, Maryland, Lagos

With theme: “His Word To Our World,” the event will hold from February 20 to 23, 2025, at the church premises.

At a press conference held at the Agape Generation International Church, Maryland, the convener, Rev. ToyinKehinde said that GMC is the avenue through which Agape Generation International Church brings the message and passion for global missions to city pastors and, Christians in urban centres, adding that GMC started in 2015, but with the increaseof attendees, the church has decided to accommodate missionaries in different hotels within proximity of the church, instead of accommodating them in members’ homes, which was the original setting.

Enumerating some of the things the church has done for the over10 years it came into existence, he disclosed that the church has sunk boreholes for communities, awarded scholarship to indigent students, bought megaphones for pastors and missionaries, including motorcycles as means of transportation for the needy missionaries.
Most of the missionaries, he said, are not members of his church, but they collaborate with other churches to ensure that the gospel of Christ is preached to the ‘unsaved and unreached’ in the society.

He said:“Attending the conference provides the missionaries opportunity for a well-deserved rest and relaxation. They are simply pampered and do not have to worry about accommodation, feeding or transportation as this is taken care of by the church and partners who also have plugged into the vision.

“During the conference, the missionaries also give report of all that has transpired on the field, highlighting the victories, conversions, and challenges too.”

This helps everyone to praise God, pray more targeted prayers and to financially support the needy.

“At the conference the missionaries who probably have had to give so much of themselves can now sit back to listen, unlearn, learn, re-learn and engage on how to continue and improve their capacity for the work.

“Also, to help renew the strength of the missionaries, medical examinations, talks and medications are carried out by the church medical team. Current trends and challenges are discussed, and action plans are drawn by participants. It is said that your network is your net worth. Just like in our mundane daily activities we need to network so do the missionaries. This networking helps them to connect with not just fellow missionaries, but also with ministers and ministries who can then support their work in one way or the other.”

Present at the briefing were Pastor Shade ToyinKehinde; Secretary, Planning Committee of GMC, Mrs. TolulopeDawodu; Church Administrator of Agape Generation International Church, Pastor Pius Uwagbai, and Deacon Godwin Ezeh.
