At thanksgiving service, cleric tasks Christians on relationship with God
The Lead Pastor of Kingdom Recovery Church, Ajegunle, Lagos, Apostle Edmund Ikejiuno Anyahamiwe, has said the only way Christians can develop closer bonds with God and celebrate Him is by knowing and understanding Whom He is.
The cleric made this known during a Special Thanksgiving Service tagged: “Celebrating God Of The Bible,” held recently at the church headquarters in Ajegunle.
Anyahamiwe, who noted that most people celebrate birthdays, marriages, childbirths, promotions, and new cars, among others, but lack the understanding of God because they do not know that the Almighty can also be celebrated.
The Lead Pastor, who said that the church does not celebrate Christmas, noted that they use the occasion to celebrate God’s divine nature.
Anyahamiwe said that people celebrate these occasions to mark the period they were born, adding that when a Christian is born again, there should be a different focus, a new life, thinking and new lifestyle to deepen his/her relationship with God.
Admonishing Nigerians on what to do at this critical period of the country, Anyahamiwe said this is the best time for Nigerians to draw closer to God, adding that it is only God that can ensure peace.
He said: “This is the time that the country needs God of the Bible. They should go back to Him. Nigerians need Him so that there will be peace. Many people have their holy books, but if they try God of the Bible, there will be peace in the country.”
Anyahamiwe said believers in Christ are like tree branches that must continue to be fruitful, stressing that Christians should be fruitful in truth and understanding.
He also admonished Christians to see the body of Christ as holy, spotless, sinless and urged fornicators, adulterers, thieves, among others, polluting the body of Christ to desist from doing so.
Members from different zones in Lagos and other parts of the country attended the Thanksgiving Service.
