How to win your loved ones to christ – Part 2
“If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing.
Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe.
They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of
Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.” (2 Cor 4:3-4) NLT
Though the Good News is the power of God unto salvation to everyone that believes, it will not be effective if the hearer does not understand it.
The devil is the god of this world. Everyone that is not born again is under his domain.
He manipulates and controls them. He put a covering over their hearts so the light of the glorious gospel doesn’t shine upon their heart.
He tries to distort the message and prevent people from understanding it, so they don’t put faith in it.
Religion is man’s way of pleasing God. It is born out of human philosophies and tradition.
Religion has taken the place of Christ and enthroned in our churches.
Religious people can kill fellow human being in the name of God. They serve Him without truly knowing Him. They call Him Lord without doing what He says.
The devil is not afraid of religion; it’s the tool through which he blinds people.
We need to pray for our loved ones and friends that we want to bring to Christ so the light of the gospel can shine upon their hearts.
We must take authority over the devil and rebuke his operation over their minds.
We need to command the covering to be removed and ask that the revelation of Christ will come alive in their hearts.
We must pray that God should grant them the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, that the eyes of their understanding will be enlightened.
That, they will be able to comprehend the love of God, which passes all understanding.
We must pray without ceasing for them.
Secondly, we must pray that God will send a prepared vessel to bring the gospel to them.
“For we wanted to come to you — certainly I, Paul, did, again and again — but Satan stopped us.” (1Thess 2:18) NIV
In the letter of Paul to the Thessalonians, Paul said he tried several times to bring the Good News to them but the devil hindered him.
The enemy of every soul – the devil will always hinder people from having access to the gospel.
This is the reason we must pray for our loved ones who we want saved.
God has so many vessels He can use. God can use anyone to get the message across to them. He can use a cleaner in the office.
He can use a friend, a Tele Evangelist ministering on radio while in the car. The Good News can leap out of the centre of a Newspaper or magazine.
God can use anything! We must pray, so God can send the best vessel to them at the right them. If the devil hinders one, God will send another that the devil doesn’t expect.
Prayers will help them be at the right place at the right time. It will prepare their heart to receive the incorruptible seed of God’s Word.
As we pray we must engage the power of the Holy Spirit. When we pray in tongues, we pray accurately. God causes all things to work together for us. Glory to God!
“And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for.
But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groaning that cannot be expressed in words.
And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.” (Rom 8:26-29) NLT
