Light to a broken world – Part 14

Jesus calls Christians to be His light in this world. Wherever His light shines, there is hope. As the light of the world, we are to give light to those enveloped in the fog of Satan’s deception. Christ has chosen to reflect His light through us, His followers, to an unbelieving world. We are sent into the world as believers in Christ to bring people out of darkness into God’s kingdom. As beacons of light to the world, we are not to hide the light and hope within us. We are to be Christ’s light-bearers, letting His light shine through us and pointing the way to salvation. We are saved to model right living, righteousness and holiness, so that, others will see Christ in us and be converted.

As the light of the world, we should not to be conformed to the ways of this world. We are not to blend with the worldly patterns of doing things and fail to live out kingdom values for the world to see. People of the world should see Christ in us and come to the knowledge of Christ, the only way to salvation. As Christians, we are the beacons of light to a dark world. We have endless opportunities every single day to draw men out of their sinful ways into the kingdom of God. We are called to be the light in our sphere of influence and people can only see the light of Christ by our conduct, actions and behaviours. Our lifestyle should not contradict the gospel of Christ. We cannot say that we are the light when we still hide and commit sins and do evil things. Our lifestyle must show that we are different and that we have encountered the light of Christ.

We are to make the most opportunity to share the gospel with others. We are to use the platforms available to us to share the most amazing gift with others! Look for ways to bring in the gospel into what you already do. We can show Jesus’ characteristics by sharing with others what we have and also sharing the gospel to them. Dare to be different and stand out for Christ. Make Jesus proud by the way you live, talk, act and relate with others. Do everything possible to share the best news in human history with others!

As agents of light, we are to show love instead of hate. We are called to put the needs of others above our own. To treat others the way we would want to be treated. To promote hope and peace to the lost and broken hearted. Our good works should speak for us before men. Let us be the ones lending help to people going through some difficulties. Let us help others around us to grow and not diminish them. Let us not be the ones putting down others, but uplifting one another. We should love like Christ and show compassion to others. In Philippians 2:14-15, Paul encourages us as children of God,amid crooked and perverse generation, to shine as lights.

We are to radiate the light of Christ in us everywhere we go.

We are to affect our environment positively with the light in us. Our lives as children of God should commend Christ to others.

We are to make Christ visible and spread the fragrance of the knowledge of God everywhere we go. We are to shine in the world like stars amid black sky.
