Power of the presence of God

Key Verse:Exodus 33:14: “And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest,” (KJV).

You cannot do anything as a child of God without the presence of God. One prayer every true child of God should pray is to pray for the presence of God. One retired Pastor said that if you come to the house of God and you don’t know what to pray for, that you should simply tell God, “I am sitting in your presence.” If there is anything that Moses needed from God is the presence of God because the task of taking the people of Israel out of Egypt into the Promised Land was before him.

Moses knew that there are giants ahead; he knew there are stronger nations; he knew they will pass through the desert where there is no provision of food and water and he knew there were obstacles on the way. Moses desperately wanted God to go with them as they entered the Promised Land. God had already promised He would give them the Promised Land, but Moses was saying: “More than the Promised Land, we want Yourpresence!”

The Promised Land meant nothing if God was not going to go with them. Are we content to receive God’s promises alone? Or do we want the presence of the One Who gave us the promise? God’s presence is the very thing that brings value to the promise. Without Him, the promise means nothing. It would be an empty promise!

When you carry the presence of God, you will pull through every storm and obstacle. As the New Year unfolds, we need God’s presence to be able to navigate through the year. You need to be sure that God is on your side. When you get the presence of God, everything will fall into place. The power of God’s presence cannot be over emphasised. It is very clear throughout the scripture that the power of God is resident in His presence. God cannot be present and His power absent. Divine presence carriers are kingdom power brokers.

The presence of God tears down obstacles and blows up strongholds of opposition. In Psalm 114:5-6, the Psalmist asked the question as to “why” nature acted so strangely. The Psalmist asked: “What ailed thee, O thou sea, that thou fleddest? Thou Jordan that thou wast driven back? Ye mountains, that ye skipped like rams; and ye little hills, like lambs?” Mountains liquefy and rocks dematerialise at the Almightiness of God. Matter ceases to matter at the instance of His presence.

The presence of God brings down the blessings of God upon the carrier. God is ever willing to accord you blessings that you never prayed for, but you have to ensure that you are at peace with God. The Bible recorded that whatever Joseph laid his hands on prospered because he was carrying the presence of God (Genesis 39:2). The atmosphere of God’s presence is the atmosphere of all possibilities; anywhere God is present, everything is possible, because with God all things are possible (Matthew 19:26b). The presence of God is the greatest asset of a person on earth.

Ensure personally that you are carrying the presence of God. The Devil is not afraid of your grammar, but he is only afraid of the presence of God. It is the presence of God that breaks every yoke and every hard area of life.
