What do you see?
What do you see? It is a thought-provoking question, which requires you to think before you give an answer. What you see determines how far you will go. What you see determines what you will get. The King of Syria, Ben-Hadad was very angry with Prophet Elisha because he revealed his plans to the King of Israel. Ben-Hadad ordered his military to go and capture Elisha in Israel and bring him to Syria. He sent a great host of horses and chariots to Dothan at night where Elisha was and they surrounded the city. When Elisha’s servant woke up and saw the troops have surrounded the house, he cried out in despair to his master, “What shall we do?” Elisha prayed that his eyes may be opened to see that those who are with them are greater than those who are with the King of Syria. There is absolutely nothing to be afraid of because the Angels of God were protecting them, but Elisha’s servant was not seeing themand ,so, he needed his eyes to be opened to see.
One of the roles of the Holy Spirit is to help us see the invisible and launch into the creative, but some Christians have limited the operation of the Holy Spirit to only speaking in tongues. Light is the greatest asset next to salvation in the kingdom. You operate at the level of light available to you per time. We are living in hard times, but it is also an interesting time because the situation presents to us wonderful opportunities to make progress in our businesses and careers if only we can see. Elisha asked the poor widow in 2 Kings 4:2: “What do you have?” And she said: Thine handmaid hath not anything in the house, save a pot of oil. The poor widow could not see the potential that lie in the bottle of oil that she had and that was why she ran to Prophet Elisha for help. Cemetery is the richest place on earth because therein lies the greatest potentials that were untapped.
The gateway out of poverty lies within the gifts God Has given you, which are great spiritual seeds inside of you. You have to discover those gifts in and around you and deploy them to use. God gave man dominion in Genesis 1:28. God did not create man as finality, rather He created man to continue the work of creation. God simply stepped aside for man to step in. If you fail to have dominion, you have failed God original purpose of creating you. Poverty is the absence of self-production. Did God know that man needed clothes, shoes, buildings, furniture, car, train, airplane to travel, among others? Yes, but why didn’t He do that for man? If He does that, then God is having dominion instead of man. God gave man the ability to go back to nature and pull out of it what he wants from nature and make it serve his purpose.
People have needs in hard times and guess what; it is the best time to start a business. A lot of businesses in America started in times of recession. For example HP (Computer Company) was launched during one of the worst recessions of the 20th century. Entrepreneurship is all about leaning into the obstacles and creating opportunities in places others have overlooked or written-off. You confront crisis with creativity.
