Signs of the end time
The coming of our Lord is near and we must be fully prepared.
Jesus warned us of a period of great deception. We are asked to watch for that time, so we are not deceived (Matthew 24:4-5 and Luke 21:8). We live in a time of deceit.
Towards the end of time, false prophets shall arise. It’s also clear in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 that there is a being (the son of perdition) who will declare himself God and will expect to be served as God. The devil has also put some individuals in positions of power, and influence to control the media, politics and education, promoting value, which is deceptive, leading the society to a state of total degradation.
We are entangled in a spiritual battle until the coming of Christ. So, the devil is bent on corrupting and controlling human minds. Credence shouldn’t be given to the devices of manipulation of the devil, the word of God should be held unto. We must be able to measure the word of God against what humans or the societies say.
The book of 1 John 4:1 says: “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God because many false prophets are out in the world.” Through the deception of Satan, people have been led away from God’s word and knowledge. Today, the concept of truth is greatly attacked.
There shall be wars and revolutions as signs of the Lord’s imminent coming. Countries shall rise against countries (Luke 21:10). There will be famines (economic recession), earthquake and pestilences (such as Coronavirus disease, SARS, Ebola, etc) happening to humans, with other fearful events. “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened” (Mathew 24:21-22). The days of tribulation will be shortened through the rapture of the elects.
Jesus will come only for the saints. It’s high time we walked in holiness, to avoid being disappointed at his coming. Let’s look forward to His return. Let’s not entertain fear, but believe the Lord is still in charge of the universe.
