Financial technology giant SystemSpecs emerged ‘Online Payments Processing Company of the Year’ at the just-concluded Nigeria Technology Awards (NiTA) which held in Lagos recently.

The City Mall venue of the event saw over 40 nominee-organisations across the economic spectrum jostling for recognition over ICT compliance in 2016. SystemSpecs stood out from the pack for the pivotal role its fintech software Remita has played in online processing within the period.

Remita aggregates multiple bank accounts, giving customers the ability to perform the complete suite of eTransactions. It is also a useful tool for major billers, offering multiple payment options, generating instant receipts and transaction reports. Most notably, Remita is also the payment gateway for the revolutionary Treasury Single Account (TSA) policy.

Since inception, the policy has reportedly instilled fiscal transparency and proper monitoring of financial transactions in the public service, enabling the government take full control of over N4.3 trillion of its cash assets as of Q4 2016.

“We are deeply appreciative of this special industry recognition of Remita in the fintech space,” said SystemSpecs Managing Director John Obaro while commenting on the company’s most recent win. “With this award, SystemSpecs is further encouraged to raise the bar in e-payment solutions that meet the needs of our teeming clients and the general public.”

Since 2012, SystemSpecs has been winning series of awards for its role in driving financial technology adoption in Nigeria. In October 2016, the company was recognised as the ICT/Telecom Company of the Year at the Annual Leadership Award in Abuja. Earlier in July, the company also got accolades as the ‘Pan-African Software Solution of the Year’ and the ‘Most Revolutionary e-Government Solution of the Year’ at the Titans of Tech Awards.
